Fattigbloggen : “The poor blog”

A few weeks ago, Jessica Ritzén, journalist for the Swedish Aftonbladet, decided to decline her salary and started her blog “Fattigbloggen”, “the poor blog”. Her idea: describe how it is like to be poor only surviving with the help of governmental and social compensations while writing a blog about it. The aim is to talk about poverty. With 93000 people reading her blog in just one week, she is in the center of attention. With the financial crises, some people go to work one day and lose their job the next one. Each person should be appreciating the step she took but some criticize her initiative saying that the journalist can’t possibily understand what it is like to be poor since she knows she will get her old life back one month later. Fattigbloggen: “le blog pauvre”

Il y a quelques semaines, Jessica Ritzén, reporter au journal suédois Aftonbladet, a renoncé à son salaire et commencé à tenir le «Fattigbloggen», le «blog pauvre». Son idée : décrire ce que c'est que de vivre pauvrement en subvenant à ses besoins pendant un mois uniquement grâce aux aides du gouvernement et à la sécurité sociale tout en blogant sur le sujet. Le but: soulever la question de la pauvreté. Avec 93000 personnes ayant lu son blog rien que la semaine dernière, celui-ci suscite le débat. Avec la crise financière actuelle, certains ont un travail un jour et sont sans emploi le lendemain. Chacun devrait être sensibilisé par la démarche mais certains critiquent l'initiative, arguant que la journaliste ne peut comprendre réellement ce qu'est la pauvreté quand elle sait qu’elle retrouvera son ancienne vie un mois après.
